"Oil On Canvas "springtime At Trilport" Signed L. Neillot 53"
Louis Neillot (1898-1973) was born in Vichy and died in Paris. He arrived in Paris in 1919 and discovered the work of Cezanne. Two years later, he successfully exhibited landscapes and still lifes at the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d'Automne. In 1929 visitors to the Salon des Tuileries appreciated his fauve palette with bright colors. Neillot moved to La Ruche where he met Armand Guillaumin, Marcel Gromaire, Henri-Charles Manguin Pierre Bonnard and Louis Valtat. He became the painter of the splendor of summers, he who had the ambition to be to Fauvism what Cezanne was to Impressionism. Oil on canvas. Dimensions with frame: 89 cm X 77.5 cm REF: Y302
