Antique Hereké Carpet, Turkey, 55 Cm X 102 Cm, Hand Knotted Wool, Mid XIXth Century

Old Hereké carpet from the middle of the 19th century in good condition, with very old restorations.
Decorated with a star medallion in the center and embellished with stylized flowers placed on a field of wine, closed by two widely decorated boards and bordered with borders decorated with geranium flowers (flowers symbol of Turkish knotters) followed by knotted braids small square flowers.
In the spirit and inspiration of Persian rugs, these rugs are finely knotted with very good wool in Hereké near the Sea of Marmara in Turkey.
Small collection carpet, abundantly decorated.
