Tomb Commode Stamped L. Boudin Louis XV Period

Convenient tomb in veneer of violet wood and rosewood on the front. It is curved all over. The sides are in rosewood and palisander veneer. It opens with five drawers in three rows. Very beautiful ornamentation of gilded and chiselled bronzes of origin. Stamped L BOUDIN Louis XV Period Gray veined white marble top (probably posterior) It has been entirely restored and varnished with a pad. Léonard BOUDIN (1735 - 1804) A simple worker, L. BOUDIN made a poor living when the cabinetmaker MIGEON asked him, for 3 of his clients, to carry out marquetry and varnish furniture of Chinese taste. Having amassed a small nest egg , he passed and obtained his Masters on March 4, 1761, then set up his workshop on rue Traversière. In 1770, he received orders from numerous renowned merchants such as Louis Moreau. very varied, worked with finesse and perfection, he opened a store in 1772 in the cloister of St Germain l'Auxerrois.
