In a perfect state. Louis Nattero is a painter known for his marines and port landscapes for which he is passionate. Largely influenced by the Impressionists, he will make light the essential element of his painting. In 1891, he settled in Toulon where he got married. He manages to get a scholarship from the city that allows him to go to Paris where he follows Leon Bonnat's classes at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. Suffering from lead poisoning, he was forced to leave Paris and settled permanently in Marseille. He worked there between 1890 and 1915, specializing in marine painting. He walks the coast of Marseilles, the Calanques, the Corniche, to Martigues and realizes many paintings. His talent is quickly noticed and his works are a great success. Its marine colors diaphanous release a serene atmosphere much appreciated by the public. Unfortunately the Great War rushed his family into great precariousness, and the mobilization of three of his sons plunges the painter into a deep despair that will prevail in 1915. The Museum of Old Toulon devoted an exhibition in 2004. Museum of the Old Toulon Musée du pays Brignolais Bibliography E.
