Rare pair of Sèvres porcelain plates.
Ornate in the center with the crowned cipher of Louis Napoléon Bonaparte, Emperor Napoleon III of the French, in gold with gold thread on the edge. Royal and imperial factory of Sèvres, dated 1843 and 1845.
Marks of the castle of Trianon (Versailles) dating from the Louis-Philippe era.

Service for Officers and Balls, second service used in official places of power under the Second Empire after that of the table of Emperor Napoleon III, called "Gold net and figure of the Emperor".
These plates are part of a reuse of plates from the Balls service of King Louis-Philippe at the Château de Trianon (Versailles). Indeed, at the advent of Napoleon III, the figure of King Louis-Philippe was replaced in Sèvres by that of the new Emperor, by voluntarily erasing the central figure in an invisible manner, with the Imperial figure being baked again.
