John Patrick Erskine was born in Youghal, Ireland, in 1944. He was raised in Sunderland.
He studied at the Sunderland College of Art and the Royal College of Art. He has taught at the Eastborne School of Art (Sussex, England) and the Winchester School of Art.
Erksine has traveled across Europe and worked regularly in Texel, in the Wadden Islands.
Numerous exhibitions in: Brussels, Eppstein (Germany), Lachanio, Rhodes (Greece), Laguna Beach (California), New York, San Francisco, Aix-en-Provence and various places in Norway.
His work is much sought after.
