"Pol Chambost, Tobacco Jar"
Pol Chambost (1906-1983) is one of the great Parisian ceramists of the post-war period. He started in the thirties with a style typical of this period, then excelled in a free, cheerful and radiant production in the 50s and 60s. From Ivry sur Seine, he moved in the 70s to the southwest and again changes his work towards more classicism. This tobacco jar is a little known model, made for stores such as La Civette, for this one.
