Literature
The Journal de Paris politique, commercial et littéraire of Tuesday August 27, 1816 mentions this bust and the stained glass windows: "The Mass in music, of the composition of M. l'Abbé Reze, and his so famous Vivat, were performed on Sunday , in the royal chapel of Quinze-Vingts, by the blind musicians of the hospital. The interest which inspired the fate of the members of this house had attracted a considerable competition of listeners who were very satisfied (...) In the evening, an elegant illumination in colored glasses illuminated the bust of the King, at the bottom of which we read this verse in transparency: Stranger in our eyes, he reigns in our hearts. "
Remember that between 1801 and 1843, the Hospice des Quinze-Vingts brought together the institute for young blind people.
