These Persian carpets, so called, also bear the name of Macchad because they are more recent than the Khorassan whose manufacture is considered to be much older.
These rugs with seedlings of flowers called herati motif are of the most beautiful effect and of a very good quality of hand knotted wool.
This repeated motif covers the entire field with a dominance of red supported by a clear blue highlighting the flower decoration.
The famous Herati motif is found in many Persian pieces which originated in this region and is the main motif of khorassan.
These carpets have kept the format called "kelley", an elongated format between: 150-250 cm x 300-550 cm.
Our model around 1980 is in very good condition with slight wear due to its age.
