"Two Boxes Box Jewelry Box Fixed Under Glass Le Palais Trocadéro Souvenir From Paris"
Rectangular in shape, they are mounted on brass walls decorated with Egyptian patterns in vogue at the time; their bevelled glass cover with the representation of the Palais du Trocadéro before its demolition which took place in 1936 to make way for the current Palais de Chaillot. These small boxes were created for the Universal Exhibition which took place in Paris in 1878 and for which the Palais du Trocadéro was erected. The interior is lined with a padded silk cushion to accommodate rings and other jewelry. These boxes are old and used; they therefore contain traces of use consistent with their use. The work of fixing one of the covers suffers from raised decorations (see photos).
