"Large Amputation Saw In Steel And Ebony By Lesueur The Elder, Circa 1780"
Large French amputation saw in forged steel and octagonal ebony handle bearing the mark "A crowned" ie the mark of the cutlery family Lesueur. This is a work by Lusueur father active in Paris, rue des Cannettes from the mid-1760s. We can date the saw from the years 1770-1780. It measures 49 cm in length. Except for a small crack at the base of the ebony handle, very good original condition. The blade is vintage. Very good copy, signed.
