This nice pair of wall sconces was made in the 19th century in France, in gilded and chiselled bronze, in the Louis XV style.
The two specular and similar sconces are composed of a central and vertical part in chiselled bronze with rocaille motifs and ending with the figure of a Chinese from which emerge some leaf elements. In a sconce the Chinese figure is female, in the other masculine. From the bust of the Chinese depart two wide aximmetric arms, in gilded bronze, with rocaille volutes and bobeche with phytomorphic elements.
Very decorative and unusual can be combined with antique furniture as well as in modern contexts.
