"Telling Coconut"
it was the missionaries who, no doubt against a few emoluments, took these objects out of the galleys, as far as the departing ship ... the wealthy who wandered around harbors in Europe ... These coconuts, which could improve the jailers' habit, were carved with more or less flair, depending on the know-how and soul of the creator.
