Willem (Wim) Bos (Rotterdam, February 12, 1906 - The Hague, January 22, 1974), Dutch painter, draftsman and watercolorist, self-taught. He has lived and worked in Rotterdam, Brussels, Hamburg, Nijmegen, Antwerp and Paris. In 1924, Willem Bos returned to Rotterdam. It was inspired by loading and unloading activities in ports and the sight of ships. Its harbor views give off the distinct atmosphere of pre-war harbors, with steamers, booms and loading cranes, steam grooves and rattling anchor chains.
