"Old Marine Sextant - Andreas Vogler"
Historic navigation instrument par excellence, symbol of nautical heritage, this scientific instrument, which takes its name from its calibration in the form of an arc equal to 1/6 of a circle, arc at 60 degrees, makes it possible to raise the angular height of a star above the horizon and therefore to know its geographical position. This object, complete and functional, can offer a touch of charm to an interior decoration. It is housed in its original wooden transport case, with its instructions in French and German. Its creator, Andreas Vogler (circa 1730-1800), was a producer of equatorial meridians and astronomical instruments. Many of his instruments are listed in museums and private collections.
