Object description :

"Humorous Painting From The XIXth Century In The Word Game"
Humorous painting from the 19th century with a "play on words".
it is a very funny picture with a saucy undertone in which the two lovers of a very close and slightly disheveled couple look at each other with a naughty air while smoking and drinking!
the man likes to send the smoke from his cigarette to the woman's face and the latter looks at him with a mischievous air while holding her shoulders.
a lot of messages in this naughty table: the word game written on the right side "do you want to granny?" accompanied by a heart pierced by an arrow suggests different readings that you can easily imagine ...
but it is so french...
do you want granny is in fact do you want to love me? And more if you really understand !
it is a mischievous and humorous picture quite rare and even if it remains naive enough it is not less charming .
signed A.Sermane in red at the bottom left. some traces of repainting.
framed in a beautiful 19th century wooden frame and gilded stucco moldings.
a very funny and rare painting.
