The quality of the sculptures and ornaments of these two very beautiful chairs called "à la Reine" with very wide seating and backs - allowing the ladies to sit with their wide dresses, permit an attribution to this famous Parisian cabinetmaker, event theuy re not stamped
The very specific shape of the "continuous" movement of the corners of these armchairs belt is characteristic of the productions of Nicolas FOLLIOT 1706-1776 or Nicolas HEURTAULT, but the quality of the sculpture of the 1st one is often much better
The many details of sculpture, the asymmetry typical of the Rocaille flower design on the belt, the nervous whiplash of the shape of the armrests, the generosity of the curves and once again the breadth of their shape, make it a pair of very high quality armchairs.
The woodwork has been consolidated (reglued assemblages) in a specialized cabinet-making workshop, and their bases, trims and fabrics (very beautiful Lyon silks) completely restored with respect of tradition (strap padding, horsehair padding, golden stripes of the late 19th century with gilded linens spaced,...)
