"China Bronze Mounted Porcelain Box?"
Round porcelain box in two parts. We believed it at the start in earthenware, it wants to imitate the cloisonne. The catch of the lid is a patinated bronze fish. The two parts of this intriguing object are dressed in a pretty gilt and chiseled bronze frame, each meeting on closing. After many hesitations, we attribute this object to a manufacture from China which may be from the 19th century. Note a mark on the bottom of the object, which could be a Chinese mark. We would be delighted if someone more knowledgeable than us in the matter would give us an opinion which we would obviously take into account. What we can say is that this object is of very nice quality and in perfect condition. diameter 17 cm - weight 980 gr
