Beautiful Louis XIII period table with legs turned in gaiac wood. This very rare wood, of such density as it flows, was brought by boat from the Antilles or South America to the Atlantic ports (La Rochelle, Nantes). Coming from a small tree it can not be suitable for large areas where the use of cherry for the sleepers and the tray. Furniture without any restoration. Original peg. Port work probably La Rochelle.
