"Vienna Bronze Hagenauer"
Group of 3 paddlers in a boat. The little figures are typical of the exotic vision of colonial Africa. The figures, in bronze and identical, row in rhythm. They are screwed onto their boat, in carved mahogany (note a small chip on the stern, the only flaw in the set). The bottom of the boat is engraved. It indicates the Hagenauer origin and includes the WHW logo (Hagenauer wiener Werkstätte / atelier de Vienne / Vienna workshop). Original Art Deco object from the twenties to the thirties. Quoted in the book Art Deco sculpture & metalware by Alfred W. Edward, page 37. We have 2 other smaller boats of the same style, one with 2 paddlers and the other with only 1 paddler. They are sold separately, and make it possible to reconstitute a sympathetic whole. However, these 2 other pieces, old, are not signed and one of the characters is without his oar. Consult us.
