"6 Emblazoned Silver Knives, Namur Late 18th- Early 18th, Handle Stock"
Rare series of six magnificent knives very robust but elegant in sterling silver. They have the typical form of the end of the seventeenth century but could also date from the very beginning of the eighteenth century. They are engraved with superb coats of arms topped with a crown. Although it dates from the same era as the knives, the engraving is not worn at all. The blades bear the signs of the Namur cutlers and certainly date from the seventeenth or eighteenth century. On the sleeves there are lion hallmarks from the county of Namur, no goldsmith's mark or vintages. The knives are very heavy in hand. A real wonder.
