"Saints in glory" Workshop of Francesco de Mura (Napoli 1696-1782) Oil on canvas size 100 x 135 Mid of XVIII century Beautiful painting on the large canvas representing a large group of Saints of the Roman Church brought to glory by three Angels with their wings spread. The three celestial Creatures escort the Saints upwards and their arms upwards point towards Paradise. The Casting of Saints in turn turns their ecstatic glances on the Sky. The author's excellent pictorial abilities are evident both in the perfect rendering of their faces and in the complex movements of their hands. The composition is articulated so as to make all the characters represented as protagonists. It is a lively, animated, engaging and very pleasant scene, made even more picturesque by the size and the magnificent colors of the canvas. The pictorial and chromatic characteristics, the eventful representation typical of the scene as well as the expressions of the protagonists lead to placing the work in the prolific workshop of the Neapolitan Francesco de Mura. The coloration of his works with particularly warm and vivid colors stands out from the strict colors of the Neapolitan baroque and influences Rococo painting of the 18th century. The painting is in excellent condition, and given the size we offer unframed.
