Important bronze proof with brown patina representing "Milon de crotone", resting on its black marble base, total height 174 cm, signed on the E.DUMONT base. 19th century Bronze size, 82 cm high, 36 * 45 cm at the base. Column size, 92 cm high, 45 * 50 cm at the base. Total height of the set 174 cm high. Edme Dumont, born in 1720, and died in Paris on November 10, 1775, is a French sculptor. He is the son of the sculptor François Dumont and the father of the sculptor Jacques-Edme Dumont. He received his first lessons from his father François Dumont and was admitted to the Academy in 1768, with his reception piece Milon de Crotone. He married Marie Berthault who gave him a son, the sculptor Jacques-Edme Dumont. On November 10, 1775, he died at his home in the Louvre palace and was buried the next day in the Saint-Innocents cemetery, in the presence of two of his friends, the painter Claude-Jude Levilly and the architect Jean-François Raux Œuvres Paris , Louvre museum: Milon de Crotone, 1768, Paris marble, pediment of the Hôtel de la Monnaie, at the end of the public courtyard: L'Expériment et La Vigilance, 1770, pupil bas-reliefs Jacques-Edme Dumont
