The artist at the origin of this work could probably be the daughter or the granddaughter of the famous portrait painter Adèle Romany. Indeed, she had a daughter (born in 1797) named Louise Lucie Gosnefroy de Saint-Ange, and a little girl (daughter of the previous one) whom she raised from the age of four, named Mélanie Cosnefroy de Saint-Ange (1820-1892), to whom she could have taught painting.

Good condition - some restorations and cracks, a restored scratch (see photos)
