Our model probably comes from the North-West of Persia , Eastern Iran, Azerbaijan.
There are two similar Aftafa ewers in yellow copper in the collection of the Heydar Aliyev foundation.
The shape and the spirit of the decor are identical in all respects.
The body is flat on both sides, and has a simple and harmonious decor
. This Aftafa ewer or jug is mainly used for ablutions, washing the face and hands, during religious ceremonies but also for eating.
