"Regence Period Bureau Stamped From Dubois"
Large and rare flat rectangular desk in blackened wood veneer, it is underlined with brass threads, opening by three drawers in front of the belt it rests on arched feet, this elegant desk has a bronze rémentation with a crowned "C" ( this hallmark was used in France between 1745 and 1759 on new or old ornamental bronzes) formerly gilded such as keyholes, drooping pull handles and hooves, the tray girded with blackened wood, is underlined by an ingot mold This desk is amplified by: J Dubois Jacques Dubois was a cabinet maker in Paris in September 1742, he worked for the King, the Duke of Orleans, the Duchess of Parma and the nobility, known for his achievements in lacquer furniture or with Chinese lacquer panels, and its varnished veneers, like the desk presented here, many museums such as the Louvre or Carnavalet have works ...... Our desk is presented in its old "juice", with its old leather and in its "old" varnish, with small accidents and misses but never "touched" !!!! it is a rare document, possibility to restore it in our workshop
