Elegant portrait of a man, oil on canvas in oval shape, the man is wearing a midnight blue jacket and a lavalière, he is wearing a Necker style, this "beautiful" quality portrait is signed at the bottom by Jean Jacques Le Barbier dit l ainé 1738 -1826. He is known for his famous views of Switzerland, then member of the Academy of Fine Arts, he was also a great illustrator of French history as well as writer, many are in museums the work is in good condition, re-covering, in a Louis XVI Style wooden frame and gilded stucco Louis XVI period work
