From a series of engravings, from a property in the Drôme, this view of Granada from the east, late 16th century, from the famous designer and cartographer Frans Hogenberg (1535- 1590), published in the famous book of 1576 by Georg Braun (1541-1622), this copper engraving, period colors, engraved bowl: 33cm x 50cm, printed on the back of a text in Latin extolling the merits of this big Spanish city. The engraving clearly shows the 3 districts of the city, Granada, Albaicin, and Antequerela; The beautiful central cartouche designates the main buildings: Alhambra, S. Helena, Los Theatinos, el Bosco, el Castillo major, Palatio Real Antiquo, el Castillo Atobin, etc .... in the foreground, a parade of local costumes and characters.
