"Picardy Fireplace In Cherry Wood XVIII / XIXth Century"
Solid wood fireplace with rudent fluted uprights topped with a stylized four-leaf clover. The lintel, probably narrowed, is molded and carved in its center with a covered Medici vase, a narrow original tray with an elegant corbin beak. Typical work from the end of the 18th century or the beginning of the 19th century from the workshops of Vignacourt, an important production center for Picardy drafts in sculpted cherry wood. Good condition, some small traces of burns at the lintel base, see descriptive photos.
