"Lithograph - Portrait Of Lajos Kossuth - Hungary - A Grossi"
Chromolithographed plates on newsprint, portrait of Lajos Kossuth by Auguste Grossi, presented in this issue of the Revue monarchiste et progressiste founded in 1873 by the cartoonist Augusto Grossi (1835-1919), which lasted until 1915. Each issue consists of 1 double sheet, the central pages of which are occupied by a large and striking chromolithographed caricature. In this issue March 20, 1894, we find the protrait of Louis KOssuth presented as leader of the Hungarian revolution in 1848, liberator of his patriot and intrepid support of his rights, died at the age of 92 on March 20, 1894 (in Turin). The journal is in good condition, multiple handling for over a century has left some tears: 1 cm tears at the original folds, small wear holes where the central folds meet. All these imperfections will disappear once the protrait is under glass. We can post worlwide please ask for details.
