This official visit of 1966 lasted 11 days, that is to say the longest trip of Charles de Gaulle in a foreign State. During this trip, he visited, in addition to Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev, Novosibirsk ... This visit served French and Soviet interests. Charles de Gaulle was greeted at the Moscow airport of Vnukovo by the president of the Praesidium of the Supreme Soviet Nicolaï Podgorny as well as Andreï Gromyko and Alexis Kossygin, respectively Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Soviet Union.
