This artist from Lyon who exhibited regularly at the Salons in his city is part of a movement of flower painters characteristic of the time (although heir to the "Great Old Ones" such as Antoine Berjon or Revoil) and of the place that could be qualify as a "School of Lyon" as its representatives were imbued with it. Thus, Eugenie Faux-Froidure, Elisabeth Barbaud-Koch or Charles Seitte delivered numerous flower compositions to us which enriched the walls of Lyon. This flamboyant composition of yellow, orange and purple wallflowers in a copper pot is balanced by a book and a vase in the background.
Circa 1920.
