"Nîmes Chest Of Drawers, Early 18th Century"
Nîmes chest of drawers in solid walnut with openwork crossbar from the beginning of the 18th century (Louis XV). Front, sides and uprights strongly curved, it opens onto two large drawers richly carved with rockery decoration. The sides are multi-lobed, with a sculpted cross member. Superb front cross member, heavily openwork decorated with leaves and sculpted rockeries. The uprights are also richly carved. Rolling front and rear feet. Original gilt bronze locks (one split in two). Gilt bronze pull handles reported but agreeing very well with the decor of the drawers. Solid walnut peg top with corbin beak. Very nice general patina. Some usual restorations to report, especially at the level of the crossbar separating the two drawers (visible in the photos).
