"Rare Louis XIV Chest Of Drawers Veneered In Cypress Wood And Inlaid With Rosewood, Papal State."
Rare and fascinating Roman chest of drawers veneered in cypress and inlaid with rosewood, with beautiful and small dimensions (98 x 150 x 68), it is characterized by four pilasters in the shape of an inverted pyramid which help to structure the architectural module of the furniture. The front has a slight but characteristic indentation, so the sides are not quite straight, but slightly oblique.
Factors which on the whole affect the beauty and the particularity of the furniture. The owl-shaped and beaked top features inlaid juniper wood frames, which are then reproduced on the sides. Suggestive apotropaic masks surmount the pilasters, probably later (?)
The measures of the cabinet are approximately 150 x 68 x 98 H.
