"18th Century Painting Moses Saved From The Waters"
Superb and elegant oil painting on canvas from the XVIIIth century representing Moses saved from the waters. We see in the foreground Moses naked lying in his cradle while he is withdrawn from the waters of the Nile by the Pharaoh's daughter. The story told on this somewhat romantic painting shows 2 young maids surrounding another crowned young woman with a valet behind her holding her cloak. The whole is presented on an antique landscape background decorated with urns and foliage with an architecture at the water's edge in the background. Quality work full of details where the colors have remained vivid and luminous. The set is presented in an original gilded wood frame, small old repairs and posterior label.
