"Painting Oil On Panel"
Oil on framed panel entitled "quai de Paris" signed lower left YAN Robert 42 x 34 cm (without the frame). French painter born in 1901 in Arcachon died in 1994 in Lorient. His first vocation being architecture, he joined the National School of Fine Arts in 1920, but turned to painting in 1924 and entered the studio of Eugène Narbonne (1885-1973). He began at the Salon of the National Society of Fine Arts in 1928, then exhibited in galleries in Brest, Paris and Concarneau. In 1934, he became a member of the Salon des Artistes Français. He was appointed painter of the Navy in 1973.
