"Pair Of Venetian Servants In Polychromed And Gilded Wood, Eighteenth"
Large pair of Venetian statues. Finely carved, the details adorning these two maids range from the sharpness of the faces to the worked hands while passing by the realism of the drapes. In polychrome wood of green, burgundy, black, the wheat-colored hair echoes the sculpted fabrics gilded with fine gold. Although close, they are distinguished by a certain number of elements: the position of the head, the hands, the hair, the nature of the trimmings… The hands turned towards the sky, the eyes tender and full of understanding. They give off an impression of calm, serene and generous beauty. Large and high quality 18th century Venetian work. Very good state of conservation.
