Large Pair Of Limoges Porcelain Vases, Entirely Hand Painted.

Exceptional pair of large Limoges porcelain vases each representing a scene from paintings painted by Courbet and Bouchet. Each scene is presented in a reserve delimited by a large net made with gold paste. The other sides of these vases are adorned with a charming decoration of vine branches, also made with gold paste. The collar and the base are decorated with a gold net. Brand and description under the base of each of the vases. The first vase represents "Diane coming out of the bath" after François Bouchet. François Bouchet (1703-1770) famous painter of the court of Louis XV and favorite of the Marquise de Pompadour. He is considered to be one of the best painter of the 18th century and representative of the Rococo style. "Diane coming out of the bath" is kept at the Louvre museum. The second vase represents "sleep" after Gustave Courbet Gustave Curbet (1819-1877), painter and sculptor, leader of the realist movement. This painting was made for Khalil Charif Pasha.
