This rare pair of mounted vases are made up of a stepped base with three feet in acanthus leaves, a pedestal in a vegetable collar carries the porcelain cone.
On a matte royal blue background, the cartridges represent on the one hand an Antique winged woman throwing water from a vase and on the other hand another woman carrying fire in a portable brazier. (allegorical vestal virgins).
The gilt frame of the cartouche and the motif on the back are of the finest quality of the genre, with a brilliant and an amati at the point of agate. This exceptional quality can only come from the workshops of the great porcelain makers of the time in Paris (Dihl, Gilbert Nast...).
