Round dish with five contours with molded border of threads.
Hallmarks (under the wing of the dish): P crowned for small mark fromJean-Baptiste Perrin [Cassan, p.45]; Warden's mark: H crowned, Caen, 1764-1765 [Cassan, p.47]; maker's mark: J, point, P surmounted by a leopard passing crowned, punch of the goldsmith Jean-Baptiste Perrin [Cassan, p.45 & 61].
Jean-Baptiste-Charles Perrin: apprenticed to the silversmith Robert Collos in Fécamp in 1742, he was received as a master in Caen in 1754 after the creation of a coffee maker asa masterpiece. He changed his small marker's mark in 1760 by a "crowned P" (ref. Photograph of the punches). He became a guard in 1763 and 1775. Still mentioned on the list of goldsmiths in 1788. Some pieces of this silversmith are listed: a chest marabout jug from 1768, in a Norman collection, a stewing spoon and a dish.
