Advertising Poster For Scientific Instruments

Rare and funny advertisement dated from 1744. Work carried out for Jacques-Nicolas Baradelle (father of Nicolas-Eloi born in 1749 and received master in 1771), merchant and one of the most fashionable manufacturers of mathematical instruments. He carries the title of engineer to the King and resides from 1744 on the Quai de l'Horloge du Palais under the sign "A l'Observatoire". Inscription: "Roy, inv. Et sculp 1744" and "Baradelle à Paris". We can therefore assume that this advertisement was produced and distributed on the occasion of the opening of this new store. Good condition. Slight bites.
