"18th Century Commode Stamped Jean Popsel"
Elegant 18th century commode from the Transition Louis XV-Louis XVI period stamped four times by Jean POPSEL (received as master in Paris in 1755) and stamps from Jurande JME. Model à la Grecque of quadrangular shape with sides slightly curved by a projection, piece of furniture called a "mechanism" with a facade opening with four drawers, the upper of which is provided by a flap revealing a scriban composed of a stretchable writing desk surmounted by four small drawers and a compartment. Nice piece of furniture entirely original in rosewood veneer framed in violet wood and wood threads slightly tinted in green, the cutaway uprights form a play of geometric figures in oval. It rests on four delicately faceted arched legs in different woods. Garnish with chiseled and gilded bronzes totally period. Gray Sainte-Anne marble top (some small shocks). Beautiful state of conservation, dimensions: 93 cm long X 94 cm high X 50 cm deep.
