"Louis Vallet Fan"
This fan by Louis Vallet (1856-1940) combines military life and feminine elegance, two of his favorite themes, in the same way as horseback riding or sailing navy. Louis Vallet was one of the nine co-founders of the Société des desinateurs humoristiques, of which Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen was also a member. He illustrated numerous books, newspapers, performed theatrical costumes and produced publicity posters. Technically speaking, the naturalist artist Vallet practices oil, watercolor and drawing.
