"A Very Elegant Flat Desk With An Eventful Shape"
A very elegant, eventful flat desk in rosewood veneer in violet wood reserves. It rests on four arched feet with five cut sides adorned with bronze scraps representing stylized corbellings and foliage, ending with foot slippers illustrating leafy windings. The facade reveals three drawers decorated with pull handles forming stylized foliage and keyholes representing foliated acanthus leaves. The top is sheathed in burgundy morocco leather embellished around its perimeter with golden decorative patterns composed of a frieze, spandrels and a central motif. The latter is underlined by a frame of violet wood veneer set in a gilt bronze astragalus molded with a corbin's beak and a cavet. The bronzes are gilded and chiseled.
