Salon Table In Ebony And Ivory Marquetry Stamped Sormani In Paris flag

Object description :

"Salon Table In Ebony And Ivory Marquetry Stamped Sormani In Paris"
Superb Transition style living room table forming a work table or dressing table.

Thin and slender, it presents rich ivory marquetry decorations on an ebony background and amboyna burl veneer. It rests on four curved, slightly re-entrant feet ending in a discreet shoe integrated into the gilded bronze foot. A drop-leaf top and a belted drawer reveal an interior composed of a bevelled mirror and two levels of sliding compartments in mahogany veneer and ebony nets.

Chromed brass lock and hinges.

Exceptional work from the Sormani house in Paris around 1890, signed on the lock.

Perfect condition: returned to its original condition by our workshop: cleaning of the bronzes (original gilding), application of a natural varnish with a pad using traditional methods (supports previously cleaned and sanded for the application of the new varnish and remove all traces of use or any other imperfection).
