"Butsudan - Buddha Amida Nyorai - Edo Era - Japan"
Very beautiful Butsudan in which we found Buddha Amida Nyorai in meditation, seated in a lotus position on a richly carved pyramidal throne in front of a Mandorle. The beautifully carved and decorated temple porch is supported by two equally decorated posts. The whole is in gilded and lacquered wood. The temple is in painted and lacquered wood. The doors are double and richly enhanced with carved and engraved plaques in gilded bronze. The closure has a floral decoration, the hinges when they are decorated with a Lotus flower. Edo era (1600 - 1868) - 19th. Very good state of conversation except for a few small traces of time. Dimensions: Height: 29 cm; width: 14.5 cm; depth: 11 cm. The Butsudan is a Japanese travel Buddhist hotel or chapel that can be of different sizes and receives one or more Buddhist deity (s) in different positions or more rarely in the form of a Tanka. These objects were passed down from generation to generation.
