"Pair Of Bouquets, XIXth Century."
I don't see any other way to talk about these charming bouquets without praising their bright, cheerful and harmonious colors, these paintings undoubtedly are, the flowers that compose them, roses and peonies with here and there a poppy or a few violets, are fleshy and full of vigor, they seem to me to embalm and suddenly spring is here. The stuccoed and gilded wood channel frames are from the 19th century. Oil on panels. 19th century French school. These two works were cleaned and refinished and one of the two which had a small slit was consolidated with a small wooden stick on the reverse. Frame dimensions 36 cm x 28 cm, view 21.5 cm x 13.5 cm.
