Carved wooden horse. Work known as "Forêt Noire." Early 20th century. This production of objects was generally carried out in Switzerland in the Brienz region where woodworking is an ancestral tradition. These animal sculptures became very popular in the 19th century and served as souvenirs brought back by tourists.Good condition. One leg restored.
