"Pair Of Portraits On Glazed Ceramic Tiles"
Pair of titled portraits in blue enameled terracotta in grisaille from the Scheib earthenware factory, rue de la Roquette in Paris. A BL stamp is debossed (surely the artist). See photos. The decor is made in trompe l'oeil and represents "the fruit seller" and "the little carp seller". Little information on this manufacture except that it officiated in the second half of the 18th century and until around 1840. It supplied certain Parisian stoves. Subjects in the style of the 18th century and probably around 1800, they probably adorned a luxurious tiled stove. Very decorative. Sending possible but to study because fragile and very heavy.
