Handcrafted Wooden Jewelry Box 1891

Beautiful handmade wooden jewelry box dating from 1891. This jewelry box was made as a Christmas present in the year 1891 as indicated by the date 12/25/1891 found inside the box. The exterior of the box is made of wood cut with pins over the entire surface. We can see the initials BL cut in a Gothic letter on a wooden tag fixed on the top of the box. The wood on the outside of the box forms diamonds between which there is red velvet fabric. Four feet in the shape of brass lion paws are attached to the box and its locking system, a key lock is surmounted by a lion's head. The inside of the box is covered with red velvet and divided into three compartments with differently decorated lids. One of the lids features two painted faces. There is also a mirror in the box, surrounded by the date of 12/25/1891. The paint inside the box is golden. This box was made entirely by hand and personalized.
